Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) is a term used to describe children and young people who find it extremely difficult to come into school due to emotional issues. 1-2% of children and young people are reported to be affected by ESBA.
A range of agencies in Salford including Educational Psychology, Education Welfare Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Early Help have developed a multi agency graduated approach for young people experiencing or at risk of EBSA.
The free webinar below describes what EBSA is and the graduated approach you can use in school to support children and young people affected by EBSA.
